In the heart of the city is situated this restaurant true to its name Desi Vibes. In Connaught Place is this family restaurant with a total desi ambience. 🙂
Overall rating : 3.5/5
Cost : 1500 for two people (approx)
Location : 2nd Floor, N-95, Outer Circle, Connaught Place, New Delhi; 9958667716
Desi Vibes has been designed based on a village based theme. The interior and ambience are made close to a desi style with a well in a colour, mud wall, paintings etc. The place is not too big, apt for a casual dining with family. The dim lights and music give it a good feel altogether, though.
Most noteworthy, this place is very crowded usually on the weekends, so be prepared for waiting and enjoy the traffic of CP from the top 😉
I went there with my family for dinner on a weekend. They serve these small munchy papads which I really loved <3
We ordered Tomato Shorba to start with. As expected the Shorba was fine and served hot!
For the main course, we ordered Desi vibes special Dal and Paneer Labadar along with bread bucket. Firstly a wrong dal was served, we had to get it replaced. Finally, after ages, that came. And then the taste of the food was quite normal to my disappointment 🙁
Though the quantity of the food was fine and was served hot, the taste did no wonder! We ordered roomali roti, butter naan and tandoori roti. The pieces of bread were well cooked and not at all soggy.
Also, the service that day was really bad. There seemed utter confusion among the staff, for some unknown reason 😛
The good part liked was this guy serving the pickles, they have these 6-8 pickles to choose from, wide variety and the taste was like homemade pickles 🙂
Oh yeah! They do serve hard drinks. So if you are looking out for a place in CP with food and drinks with family, this is the place. Though there is nothing over the top here 😉
